Tri-County Communications is a Motorola Premier Service Partner and an Authorized Two-Way Radio dealer with offices in Oneonta and Binghamton, NY and serving upstate New York and Northeast Pennsylvania. Our products and services include fire pagers, onsite paging, two-way radio, microwave radio, GPS & Location Services as well as radio, site, tower and pager repair.

Summary: Responsible for the organization’s sales processes from start to finish.

Duties and Responsibilities

Primary Duties

  • Structure deals with clients within assigned company guidelines
  • Source new leads
  • Follow up on Calls
  • Learn about new products in the company’s portfolio
  •  Track Sales statistics
  • Attend mandatory trainings
  • Act as a leader in product knowledge within the organization and with clients
  • Consult with the Technician team to meet deadlines and to share product knowledge
  • Answer the sales phone line
  • Provides excellent customer service for existing clients
  • Reports Sales to Motorola
  • Position may require occasional travel
  • Administrative support to Sales Manager
  • Manage rental radio inventory, scheduling and fulfillment

Secondary Support Duties

  • Assist in order fulfillment
  • Assist development of marketing material as part a Team
  • Complete FCC fillings for the company and its customers
  • Support all Facets of the paging system
  • Service Walk-in Traffic including but not limited to accepting payments, handling purchases and pickups, and receiving radios in for repair.
  • Ship and Receive Product

Must attend Motorola trainings. Must posses or attain Motorola Sales certifications. Drivers license. Product certifications. Some overnight travel will be required for Motorola training.

Wireless Communications Install Technician - Oneonta, NY

Responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining two-way radio communication systems for various organizations. This involves analyzing and diagnosing communication system problems, repairing equipment and performing scheduled maintenance checks to ensure that the systems function effectively and efficiently.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Install, maintain, and repair two-way radio communication systems
• Perform regular preventative maintenance on equipment and systems
• Respond to service requests and troubleshoot equipment and system problems
• Analyze and diagnose communication system problems, and recommend solutions
• Test and adjust two-way radio equipment and system components
• Document all repairs and maintenance performed on equipment and systems
• Keep inventory of parts and equipment needed for repairs and maintenance
• Advise customers on technical issues and provide training on the use of two-way radio equipment and systems
• Follow safety procedures and regulations when working on communication systems

Requirements:
• Associate’s degree in Electronics or related field, or equivalent experience
• At least two years of experience in the installation and maintenance of two-way radio communication systems
• Knowledge of two-way radio systems and components, including mobile and portable radios, repeaters, antennas, and base stations
• Familiarity with common two-way radio protocols and communication standards
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

RF Technician

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Summary: Repair and trouble shoot two-way radios and radio systems. Design and implement two-way radio systems.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Install, inspect, maintain and repair radio equipment (mobile units, base stations, relay station, portable and hand carried units), radio control equipment, microwave systems, power supplies, antennas, masts, and related equipment and various electronic measuring and testing devices. They may work on fiber optic lines, transmitters, signal processing equipment and operate network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, power meters, and RF generators.
  • Install two-way radio mobile transceivers, electronic sirens, emergency lighting systems, mobile video systems, computer equipment, and associated electronic equipment. Installs, maintains, and repairs two-way base communications, microwave, audio, control, antenna, transmission line, and associated electronic equipment. Installs microwave and control consoles at base station and repeater sites. Tests operational capabilities of mobile installations. Provides ground assistance for base station, radio tower, microwave antenna, and transmission line installations. Programs mobile, portable, and fixed radio equipment.
